接到的第一个offer是大学最后一年刚开始,听说找工作很难,很快就accept了。
工作了2年半以后决定跳槽,拿到offer后觉得base pay太低,negotiate了一下,涨了。
最近拿到的offer,不打算negotiate,也不打算accept,和compensation没有关系。
我的经历是:当perspective employer问我的salary expectation的时候,如果给了一个比较保守的数字,offer就是这个数字;如果给了一个range,就是range的lower bound。
是呀,是应该看情况呀......
但是另一种说法是, 可以把接受OFFER的这个过程当成你在这家公司工作的一个良好的表现开端, 因为一个professional and polite negotiator 表现出更强的交际能力,未来可能会受公司更多的重视......我比较喜欢这样的说法, 现在工作中难道不是到处都有negotiation 吗?

it never hurts to negotiate the salary.
one of my former classmate (a foundraiser in his 50's) said he'd always say 'I thought it would be a little bit more'.
when i got a job offer, though it's the only offer in 6 months and i'm sure i would go and i'm satisfied with the salary, i still asked "is the salary negotiable?" they called me an hour later and gave a 7k+ raise.
even if they can't offer a better salary, you won't lose anything, right?
