The recruiter asks me to list salary requirement (via email). How should I respond would be appropriate? Thank you.

可以说没有具体要求吗,只要合理就行.因为我是entryl level, 但不同的职位和不同的雇主(比如说公司和学校)工资差别很大.

Sure you can. However, keep in mind that if you say so, they usually give you a pretty low starting salary. But if you don't mind, since it's your first job, then that's ok.

Sure you can. However, keep in mind that if you say so, they usually give you a pretty low starting salary. But if you don't mind, since it's your first job, then that's ok.

在你的行业entry level 的range里，尽量说高一点吧，只要不离谱旧城。很多大公司都有guideline,也不一定你开个高价就一定给。

I really don't like this kind of companies. 明明自己心里有数，偏要让candidate先说。这就是典型的玩游戏。记得以前有个jm说过最好不要说具体数字，只说prevailing salary或者market average。俺totally agree。既然要玩游戏，那大家都玩。 [em14]

MM可以说‘OPEN'。反正是RECRUITER问，又不是公司。RECRUITER就是为了赚钱的,就是摸摸底，看MM是不是MARKETABLE。NEGOTIATE也是和公司的事。

好像每个公司不同，有的公司你说market value就可以，有的一定要你给数字。

一定要说个数字的话就往高的说。真正appreciate你的公司，没有哪个会因为你多要几千刀就不work with you. 凡事好商量嘛，他要说不行，那就让他说个数来听听。 [em14]

还是建议写open. The company has certain budget. If you ask higher, you may miss thie chance to interview this job. If lower, they will think you are not confident, or not so qualify. If you say exactly the $$ they want to offer, why even bother to say it? That's why in most of the books, it suggests, put OPEN there.
