hedge fund

i started to working in a hedge fund as a risk analyst in nyc last year. The base is 80k with 50% of base as bouns. what do you think about this compensation, by the way i have one year financial experience before joining this company and have MS FE degree. Any comments are appreciated.

In addition, hedge fund is supposed to not being that stable, so i am not sure if i should ask the company to sponsor my green card application. any people can share related information/experience with me? thanks

我觉得你的这个OFFER较合理，1-3年工作经验是一个LEVEL，我一朋友在知名咨询公司做FINANCIAL ANALYST，base salary 和你差不多，他有名校的FE MS DEGREE，但他只有INTERN 的经验。

我前些天，看到一篇文章讲HEDGE FUND，这一行这些年没有以前那么风光，就像你说的，不是很稳定。

但是在NYC，机会有很多，祝你好运。

Is the 50% for bonus just for the first year? Or will it be fixed as 50% for a couple of years?

Thanks for your comments. The bonus mostly depends on the return of the funds. My boss told me there was no bonus at all in 2004 since the return in 2004 was terrible(around 0). I was lucky that i joined the firm in 2005( 2005 was a "OK" year). 50% bonus is for 2005, for the flowing years, who knows? So still hesitate if i should switch to a large investment bank, and then apply for green card.

不大可能的说. 我认识几个在投行的, 累死累活工作好几年工资涨到12万就不动了.

不过hedge fund 的不是很了解 [em08]
