我想问如果将来想做corporate finance 现在应该修什么课比较有用呢?我现在是MS Finance.

听说MS Finance 找investment bank 之类可能没戏,但是可以试试corporate finance.

我这里就有一些同学进的石油公司做corporate finance.

这里学金融的mm可能不是很多吧. 谁来说一说?

I will say you may still have a chance with IB because I know people who did succeed with MS Finance. IB prefers smart candidates with high scores (like GMAT, GRE, GPA). I got an interview before with a big IB, but kinda blew it because I never expected to get such an opportunity. Therefore, if you really like IB, you may still have a shot.

Meanwhile, as for Corp Fin, it can fall into so many different dept/functions. I will say it is always good for you to have solid background in Accounting/Financial Analysis/Excel/Communication Skills. Most of the time, you will start with a position that may involve month end closing, reporting and analysis as entry level employees.

看来要恶补excel,只会用一点点功能.惭愧啊.上课做的model都是老师设计好的,照葫芦画瓢就行了.

我也觉得corporate finance 将来可能会用很多accounting的东东, accounting 也不能不好好学亚.

accounting 是挺重要的。但是难度大的accounting都是accountant做的，你概念好就行了。

excel,我上班以后学的比在学校里多很多。所以不用可以弄。倒是npv,irr那些东西，看起来很容易，用到复杂的corp finance去，其实很容易弄错。在学校关键是概念弄扎实，然后找工作的时候态度好，肯学习，就行了。
