我正在申请master,可是申请的学校business里没有finance engineering,只在数学系里有finance mathmatics,请问，这两个专业之间区别大吗？谢谢。

不太了解这两个的异同，不过我们这儿的financial engineering是在ORIE系的(Operations Research and Industrial Engineering)。一般这个似乎不在B-school吧？

You might want to look at their course catelog and compare the differences. The Math major may be more math oriented and focus on how to utilize the math tools to solve finance problems. My hubby was in that major for PhD program and he's a quant now.

For B-school FE majors, you may not become a quant, maybe more focused on the execution of model to make business decisions other than the modeling.
