B: Oh it's probably a combination of my tea and my lotion.

A: What kind of lotion is it?

B: It's white tea and ginger. I got it from Bath & Body Works. Actually, they are having a big sale right now.

A: Oh really? Which store?

B: At all of their stores. I think their lotions are $4 each now.

A: That's great. I'm definitely going after work today. What other scent would you recommend?

B: I also like the pink grapefruit kind. And, oh, the fresh pineapple. They smell so good. Just make sure you don't eat them.:)

A: Haha. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

B: Sure. Have fun shopping!

A: Oh I will!

没有特别多的经验，不过觉得真得跟不同的人说不同的内容。要不别人不感兴趣，或者不知道，然后两人说两句就卡克了，很尴尬的。
1，孩子孩子孩子，当然是跟有孩子的同事，衣食住行，怎么找医生，分享交流心得，照片啊，如果开庆祝生日啊，任何内容，觉得只要是有孩子的，又说起孩子的事情，可以说个一小时，都还意犹未尽。

2，衣服首饰，呵呵，我们这里女人多，这个永远不过时，即使是男同事，偶尔说个人家领带看着不错，也还行吧。
3，侍花弄草，不过还是因为我这里女人多，这个话题才能很容易的继续下去，也能说个没完没了的。
4，有趣的问题，大部分人如果知道，也还是愿意根据这个问题聊上很久的，比如最近去哪玩了，一般人如果出去了，会很愿意跟你说许多他们的经历和趣事的。
5，一些新闻话题，不过都是些比较轻松的，敏感的，影响不好的，都少说。
6，做菜做饭的，还是女人多的缘故，我办公室旁边就是break room,午饭时候就可以大开眼界和交换菜谱了。

B: I'm going to see an old friend in NYC.

A: Are you taking the train or driving?

B: Driving.

A: Then drive very carefully. Traffic in NYC is horrible, much worse than here.

B: I've heard about it. But my friend told me taking the train is not as convenient. Do you know when the traffic is a little better? Maybe after 7pm?

A: I am not sure. It doesn't change that much unless you go around midnight. I would recommned you go as early as possible.

关于修理房子

He: I am so tired today.

Me: What's wrong?

He: Nothing. I just I fixed my deck yesterday.

Me: Deck? What deck (联想到了甲板)?

He: The one outside the house, where you can have barbecue.

Me: Ohoh, I know. That's called deck, I thought it is balcony.

He: no, but it is similar to balcony. Most decent houses all have deck.    

Me: I see. So you can fix yourself?

He: Yes, I do. I am a handy man, I fix everything in the house myself.

eh,不记得详细的说过什么，不过一般我们这儿hunting, fishing, boating, wood cabinets, home remodeling, kids, dogs都是很好的话题。 不过一般我都是听和发文而已，因为以上列的东西我都没有-_-。 然后就是看什么人说什么话了， 一般和engineer我就说说电脑的事儿，computer guy我跟他说电动，有人要出差儿啦就说说那个地方怎么样， 女生嘛就讲讲家里的孩子，还有book party. 然后就是要耳尖，我们这儿都是open space, 听到什么就记下来那家新买了船了，哪家怀孕了，哪家要搬新家了什么的，下次见到那个人就有话说了。

#1今天下午刚刚发生的，讨论workout

me: I really hate to go to the gym in the summer. Without AC, it's hazy and disgusting.

Em: You are right, me neither. I'd rather go outside, you know, running or playing tennis.

me: I don't like running, though. It's boring and it's bad for the knees. Tennis is really fun, but since i'm still a rookie, it's not exactly aerobics or cardio. Most of the time, i'm standing still, watching the ball passing by, or spending 10 minutes chasing the balls, which are all over the place.

Em: You can do swimming~~

me: I like swimming. But I can only swim for one or two days per week. The chlorine in the water really hurts my eyes after a while.

Em: go hiking then. I know a couple of really good places for hiking and camping around here. It's really fun.

me: Great. Give me the details. I'd love to go sometime.

me: a-ou! I'm the first one to go on the seminar list again. That's all because of my last name.

grant: you can always change it when you get married.

me: en, actually chinese people don't do that. It's not a tradition. Of course you can if you want to. You don't have to.

grant: really? that's strange. My future wife will have to have my last name.

boss: You are so old-fashioned. I'm not gonna change my last name. I already have so many papers published under my name now. If I change it, people won't be able to find my publications on PubMed!!

grant: so all the women in the science world don't change their last names?

boss: well, depends. I know an interesting story. There was on woman, she changed into her husband last name, which is long and wierd. She got the nobel prize under that name. But then she got divorced. And now she has to keep that ugly last name because that name is famous.

G: That's it? How boring?

em: There's got to be sth else.

me: chips and soda?

G: I guess we invented all the unhealthy food on earth.

me: Variety is waht's lacking here. Cereal is pretty much all you have for breakfast. If i'm in China right now, I can have different things for breakfast for a month without having the same thing twice.

em: That's interesting.

吃饭的时候说食物，是很自然的话题，但是一旦聊开了，就有很多可以讨论的东西了
