We will use two vilionists in the ceremony and play chinese traditional music CDs in the reception. I never thought about using a DJ, so I don't know how much it will cost and what DJ does in a wedding.

If you like live music, there are many choices,. you can do solo, duet, or trio on many music instruments, such as violin, piano, cello, guitar, etc. The costs should be cheaper than a band, (I guess).

Yes. the violinists are only for the ceremony in my wedding. It's about 2 hours long. They will play classical music in the first part and in the following mini reception, they will play some pop music. They know many many songs, so the guests can request their favorites songs from the musicians. Hopefully, this will entertain the guests.

I don't have dancing in my wedding. Yes, I agree with you. For dancing, the music should be more fun and entertaining.

My wedding has lots of limitations because of the traditions requested by the family members. If you can fully control it, just make it fun and do whatever you want to do!
