felt pain a few months ago, went to see the doctor, and he said it very possibly was kidney stone. But he suggested many checks to be 100% clear/sure, which will be done in at least half a year. (this is so ridiculous in US!)

the doctor said there was one simple treatment to make the kidney stone into small pieces, which could be done in a few minutes.

my question is: shall I treat the kidney stone as soon as possible? any bad effect for delay? what is the best way to treat kidney stone? any traditional chinese treatment? and how to prevent kidney stone to happen in the future?

Many people pass the stone by themselves, totally symptoms free. But if the stone gets stuck in the ureter (shu1 niao4 guan3), it is extremely painful, and there will be blood in the urine, the worst thing is the whole kidney can get severe infection.

A good way to treat kidney stone (I can't say if it is the best or not) is ESWL (ti3 wai4 sui4 shi2), you can consult your doc about this.

The way to prevent kidney stone? Drink lots of water! It also helps in passing the stones. :)
