拿到了master admission，上面通知开学会有一次英语考试，不知道要为什么要考试，考什么？有没有有经验的人告诉我一下啊？要不然心里没底阿，和申请assistantship有没有关系阿？

会考语法，阅读，作文，听力？

各个学校不同吧，我们这里考口语，听力，阅读，写作。后三项基本跟托福差不多，口语就是跟一个老师聊天，她会让你做一些情景表演，比如我当时考的就是努力卖一个东西给她。总之都很简单，我们这某一项考不过的后果就是要上那一项的ELI课程

和以后申请assistantship没关系么？

In our school, it's just speak test and the results won't affect your assistantship. But if you don't pass centain standard, you are required to take different English classes. I think the best way to know what the test is about is to contact the graduate director or other graduate students of yur program. Good luck!
