i've made several beads myself, just to go your local bead shop, it should have everything you need to make bead necklaces. i personally like the stone chips, they have all kinds of colours and sizes, then buy the threads, and the clasps, and wola! the bead shop should have instructions on how to make them, or the ladies who work in the shop can teach you too hands on!
