I did mine with Ameriprise (formerly American Express Financial Advisors). There should be many funds available for short-term investment. Some may argue that some of their funds are not the best or less-than-average-return among others. The fund I chose isn't doing well (I can send this information to you later).

我觉得你在做短期投资前做一些research，比如哪些brokerage firms (Fidelity, Vangard, etc)的funds选择多一些，return好一些，你的risk taken的程度，等等。

I would recommend scottrade. Simply because it's cheaper and provides enough info for you to analysis
