今天受到消息说7月后H等签证的revalidation要停办, 也就是说不能在DC办, 要出美国才行. 这个revalidation是啥呀, 是不是说F1转的H1, 只有status没有visa, 所以要送到DC去弄个VISA?

那对于有STATUS但没有VISA的H1 (F1转的), 要回国的话, 是应该上那里搞VISA呢? DC? MEXICO? 还是回国去签? 我觉得这个问题应该停普遍的, 但我认识的H1好象都没有回国的打算--有和我一样没出息, 必须得时不时回趟家的人么? //blush

my h-1 visa will start this sept. i plan to go home at the end of this year, just miss home to much , and good food. i think i have to apply a visa in china, no time to go to mexico or canada

i think if it's your first time to apply h-1 visa, you have to get it outside usa, after that, you may just send your passport to dc and renew it. but it seems us government will stop doing that soon

H-1 revalidation means for certian type of visa,H-1 is inlucded,F-1 not, if you has got the same type of visa from out sdide of US, then next timw just mail it to DC and get it in mail,may take 6 months.
for those with status but no stamp, need to go to CA/Mexico/China to get visa.
I don't know how about other countries, but basically, you'd better do it in one of these place. Think if you are stuck in one place in Europe and has to go back to China....

看来无论如何得出美国才能拿到VISA了 。在中国签风险大 吗， 有没有必要去mexico呢 ，还有是不是趁还没有提出绿卡申请去签会比较容易呢。。

Maybe Mexico is better than China, and it is said now you can come back with ur i94 if you are refused,
someone canceled their application at once when the officer try to check him/her.

Problem is I don't know if you are refused and you walk back with ur i_94 then what's ur status?
maybe no one cares, but I just don't know.

Thanks a lot Jami. But what is "cancel application when they are checked?", check不是就说明已经在签证了吗, 那还能取消吗? 这不是说签不成说声CANCEL就完了? 那就是零风险了?
