I want to go back to school next year. Now I'm holding H1b.
I will change to F1 after I register as a full-time student next year.
If I graduate after one year study and find a job, will I still be counted
in 2006 H1b quota when I submit my H1b application?
I mean is this situation considered H1b transfer or new H1b application?

BY my understanding, it is going to be H1 transfer, and it will be conbined with the privous H1 years. Say you worked as H1 for 4 years already, you can only apply for at most 2 years H1-B after u study for another year and apply for H1 again.

However, if you stay at school for 3-5 years and obtain another advanced degree specified in different area, it may be different, which I am not sure.

well,I think 6 years H-1 is definitely for whole if you don't leave US.
But I am not sure it is H-1 transfer or need CAp or not.
I guess it is not H-1 transfer for you don't have the H-1 pay check.Then how can you be couted as H-1 transfer?

要换工作并不一定要重新读个学位的

照我的理解，你的头一个h1一旦over，再申请就属于重新申请，但是像jami说的，h1总共6年，是指未离开美国境内的所有h1年限，所以还是要慎重考虑。
如果自己有条件申请绿卡，就等绿卡下来了再去读书，因为h1这6年一晃就过了。

if you change your major then you should have OPT again bah.
You cna ask some lawyer , I know on fanlaw.com you can ask them any questions and you can ask another 1-2 lawyers, sometimes they say diffrent tthings.
If they said the same, you can be sure.

I know the law just changed , so like for same major, after BS,MS,and PHD you should have 1 years of OPT after you got each degree.
So I assume once your major changed, you should also got the OPT.
Since now you should be trained for another career.
But whatever people said here is non professional , you can ask some lawyer, just call them and ask.

谢谢各位的回答，我问过律师了，把答案写出来，以方便有相同问题的朋友
1。换专业，但是仍然读Master (如果已经有一个硕士），没有OPT
2。从h1换成f1之后，再申请h1,相当于新申请，不是transfer.
