去年找一个律师办劳工证，说好分两次付清，首付了一半。但是后来政策有了变化，所以这个case就没有办完（只打了两次广告，后来就没进行下去了）。现在他几次发信催钱，还说几天之内不给钱就报告给催款公司。我跟他联系说明这笔钱不该出,因为工作没有完成，但是没有回音。很着急，想知道：1。被报告给催款公司会不会对credit history 有影响，以至于影响到将来移民？2。我有没有办法dispute,应该向谁dispute去？BBB，催款公司，还是什么法庭？是不是应该赶在他报告之前dispute? 具体怎么做？

大家帮忙看看，这是明摆着律师没道理，但是不知道能不能从法律上胜过他。

I agree. First, you shoulld check the contract (retainer). Second, if he insists that you should pay the balance and it is not included in the contract, you can file a complaint to the ABA (American Bar Association), just google its website. Before you file the complaint, negotiate with the attorney first. Most attorneys are afraid of complaints to ABA cause ABA will investigate it. If he agrees to withdraw his representation, you should sign a withdrawl contact and get back all your documents.

I strongly agree. Because of the change of the company policy I couldnt file GC as scheduled, I decided to drop the case. I asked the attorney to refund me half of the down pay. He said he couldnt refund the money for the service that had already be provided. I said it was because of his negligence that cause the confusion(kind of). I would report him to bar association if it is necessary. So he did.
